The Rivers State Government is yet to issue a statement on the fire incident.

‎The incident comes amidst a threat by the governor, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, to punish civil servants involved in fraudulent activities during the six-month emergency rule in the state.

‎Also, THEWILL recalls that Fubara had dissolved the State Pensions Board a few days ago, with a further threat to probe the activities of the board during the emergency period.
