BEVERLY HILLS, June 26, (THEWILL) – Seven expatriates, kidnapped on the outskirts of Calabar, Cross River State, in the Niger Delta, have been released unharmed after four days of captivity.
This was disclosed on Sunday, by the Cross River State Commissioner of Police, Jimoh Ozi-Obeh, who said they were released unhurt but gave no further details.
The victims, including three Australians and a South African, all worked for cement company Lafarge, in Calabar, Cross River State.
The release was also confirmed by Jude Ngajim, Security Adviser to the Governor, Cross River State.
“They are safe and sound,” he said, noting that a doctor had made medical checks and pronounced them “fit and sound.”
