February 26, (THEWILL) — The Director of Lagos Operations of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Princess Adenike Adegoke, has commended the management of the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two, MMA2, for visible infrastructure upgrades, professionalism and improved passenger experience.
Princess Adegoke, who gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to the management of MMA2 recently, also described the facility as a glowing example of private sector efficiency in airport management.
She particularly applauded the growing international profile of the Detty December travel surge, noting that it has evolved into a global convergence point for Lagos-bound travellers.
The FRCN Director assured the terminal operators that Radio Nigeria would continue to amplify their achievements across its nationwide network and digital platforms, including online news portals and social media channels.
She emphasised the corporation’s readiness to develop public service announcements and specialised programmes to educate travellers on airport procedures, safety measures and new developments.
Adegoke described the corporation as a powerful national platform capable of projecting institutional achievements across the country and beyond.
She highlighted Radio Nigeria’s vast reach, noting that the Lagos operations alone run three major stations, Metro FM 97.7, Radio One 103.5 and Bond FM, the latter, broadcasting in indigenous languages, including Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba, with local dialects that ensure inclusivity.
According to her, wherever Nigerians come from, Radio Nigeria provides a familiar voice, making listeners “feel at home” through language and culture.
In his remark, the Acting Chief Operating Officer and Head Aeronautical Services, Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2, Mr Remi Jibodu, reaffirmed the terminal’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the media to advance innovation and economic development in Nigeria.
He equally commended the corporation’s expansive network and longstanding role in promoting national integration, public awareness and development initiatives across the country, noting that deeper cooperation would help amplify positive stories within the aviation industry.
Jibodu emphasised that operational excellence, innovation and passenger experience remain central to MMA2’s mission.
According to him, the terminal was deliberately designed not just as a transit hub, but as a destination that enhances comfort and convenience for travellers.
Referencing the growing “Detty December” travel surge, the MMA 2 Ag. COO, stressed that the terminal’s role extends beyond infrastructure to tourism facilitation.
He said the management has been intentional about creating an ambience that reflects a modern Nigeria and leaves a positive first impression on returning diaspora and international visitors.
As one of the first points of contact for many travellers, he noted, MMA2 carris a responsibility to help reshape perceptions about the country.
Jibodu expressed confidence that through sustained collaboration with key institutions like FRCN, the terminal will continue to support tourism, strengthen the aviation sector and contribute meaningfully to national development.
