July 24, (THEWILL) – At least fifteen persons have been reported killed following a fuel tanker explosion on Sunday evening, along Showboy Road, in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Fumilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, who confirmed the incident, described the victims as fuel scoopers
John, an Okada rider, told newsmen that “After the truck crashed, people began to rush to the scene to scoop fuel. It was in the process that the truck exploded.
“Three children died, and we have counted over 15 bodies. A pregnant woman, who wanted to buy fuel, also died,” he said.
