December 29, (THEWILL) – Nollywood actor, Gideon Okeke, has explained why he has an axe to grind with his senior colleague, Jim Iyke.
Okeke had in a post shared on his Instagram page, called Jim Iyke a small boy with a fake American accent and fakes everything.
The actor has now explained why he called out his senior colleague in a follow-up post on Instagram.
Okeke revealed that he was injured on Jim Iyke’s set and the latter did nothing about it.
He wrote: “It’s taken three whole months to heal from that and still. Jnr Pope is one death too many, too many in this business. And that only happened this year, 2024. ‘Had I gotten anything more than these two stitches on the set of Jim Iyke’s production, y’all would still call me a fool. I guess. It has taken me a whole 3 months to heal from that and still…
‘‘I am committed to ensuring safety at the Nollywood workplace. Sometimes I’ve asked myself, why was it me who got hurt? I guess it is so that nobody else gets to take one for the team. But Jim Iyke is running… Small boy.”
Meanwhile, he has asked the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, the Producers Guild of Nigeria, PGN and the Directors Guild of Nigeria, DGN, to investigate the matter, stating that it was time for actors to be insured on sets.
