Abiodun, who was represented by his Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, at the commissioning of the projects on Monday, said that the Speaker’s rural electrification projects and other projects were in line with the ISEYA mantra of the current administration towards improving the lives and living conditions of the grassroots.

Abiodun said that the project was a testament to Elemide’s commitment to improving the welfare of his constituents, stressing that the electrification projects would make rural settlement more attractive, enhance farmers’ agricultural produce to boost food security, as well as enabling business environments.

He said, “With the completion of this electrification project comprising nearly two (2) kilometres of power lines and a 500 KVA transformer, the living conditions of residents and farmers will improve significantly. Electricity will not only enhance social life here; it will also make the settlement more attractive to farmers, boost agricultural output, and contribute to Ogun State’s drive for food security.

“Beyond production, there are immense opportunities along the agricultural value chain, from processing to packaging and storage, that can create new revenue streams for our farmers and emerging agripreneurs.

“What we see here today is a good example of how the legislature complements the efforts of the executive arm and our education agencies in delivering the dividends of democracy to our people. By aligning constituency priorities with state-wide education objectives, our legislators are ensuring that our children learn in safe, conducive, and inspiring environments.

“I also want to acknowledge other constituency projects across Odeda Local Government, including boreholes, solar lighting, and the recently commissioned rural electrification project at Oba-Aasha Ajegunle Mile 6, all of which are transforming lives and deepening development in our communities.”

The governor divulged that the present administration would give attention to the access road to the community linking Oba-Aasha Ajegunle Mile 6, which included the historic Ajegunle Farm Settlement, established under the leadership of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, and consequently remained a vital part of the agricultural economy of Odeda Local Government

He implored the residents of the community to take full ownership of the project, explaining that the value being provided was far beyond the poles, wires, and transformer, adding that it represented opportunity, progress, and a better future for the people.

“Let us protect it together, remain vigilant, and ensure that no one sabotages what has been brought here for the collective good of the community”, he remarked.

Elemide, however, thanked Abiodun for approving the facilitation of the constituency projects, which extended the developmental agenda of the present administration to the grassroots level.

He explained that the project was a product of public opinion and critical evaluation of the people’s needs, urging the beneficial communities to take ownership and ensure the security of the facilities for the overall well-being of the people.

In their separate goodwill messages at the commissioning of the Electrification project, the Chairman, Odeda Local Government Council, Dr Afolasade Adeyemo, a party chieftain, Alhaji Musulumi Saka, a community elder, Tajudeen Fagbemi, applauded the representation style of the Speaker, stressing that his leadership had brought succour to the plight of the beneficiary communities.

They described him as a worthy representative, who keeps promoting visionary leadership, commitment to quality service delivery, while piloting the affairs of the Legislature to be a supportive partner in progress with the other arms of Government.

Also speaking during the commissioning of the school project, the State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, lauded the 10th Assembly through Speaker Elemide for always complementing the efforts of the ministry through policies and intervention projects, assuring that the ministry would provide complementary furniture items to the school to aid seamless learning
