October 12, (THEWILL) – Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has pledged improved Hajj operations and welfare of the state’s pilgrims during the 2025 Hajj exercise.
Yusuf made the promise when he received the 2024 Hajj report at the Government House, on Saturday.
The report was presented to the Governor by the management of the state Pilgrims Welfare Board, led by the Director-General, Laminu Dan Bappa.
He described the 2024 Hajj as most successful and commended the Amirul Hajj (Leader of the State Delegation), who is also the state Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, and the management of the Pilgrims Board for the feat.
According to Yusuf, the receipt of the 2024 Hajj report marks the commencement of preparations for the 2025 Hajj exercise.
“With the receipt of this Hajj Report, we have commenced preparations for the 2025 Hajj operations. We want to make it better for our people”, he said.
In his remarks, the state Amirul Hajj and the Deputy Governor of the state, Comrade Aminu Abdulssalam Gwarzo, thanked the Governor for his support of the Hajj exercise.
He informed the Governor that the state’s 2024 Hajj pilgrims were accorded adequate care and attention in terms of good feeding, healthcare and accommodation while in Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, Director General of the Pilgrims Welfare Board, Laminu Dan Bappa, told the Governor that all the 3,125 state pilgrims had performed the Hajj successfully and returned to Nigeria safely.
Dan Bappa said plans had commenced for the collection of deposits for the 2025 Hajj and thanked the Governor for his support to the 2024 Hajj operations and called for more.
