July 15, (THEWILL) – Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc has appointed Mrs. Miriam Olusanya as the Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank Limited, while Mr. Segun Agbaje serves as Group Managing Director of the Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc.

This is according to a notice signed by the Company Secretary, Erhi Obebeduo, and sent to the Nigerian Exchange Group Limited (NGX).

Olusanya was formerly in charge of the Wholesale Banking Division of GTBank, which comprises the Asset and Liability Management, Trading and Sales as well as the Corporate Finance Groups.

She joined Guaranty Trust Bank in 1998, after two years at SmithKline Beecham Nigeria (now GlaxoSmithKline – GSK).

Miriam Olusanya had a short stint in Transactions Services and later moved to the Bank’s Treasury Group in 1999. She managed the local and foreign currency trading desks before becoming the Bank’s Chief Dealer in 2003 and subsequently, Treasurer in 2004.

In 2006, she led the team that secured the appointment of the Bank as a Primary Dealer/ Market Maker in Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) Bonds with the Debt Management Office (DMO).

Olusanya holds a Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science degree from the University of Ibadan (1995) and a Masters of Business Administration (Finance and Accounting) from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom (2011).

She obtained the professional ACI (Association Cambiste Internationale) Dealing certification – The Financial Markets Association. She has attended various courses and Executive programmes at institutions such as the Cranfield School of Management. Miriam Olusanya serves on the Board of Guaranty Trust Bank (Gambia) Limited as a non-executive Director.

Meanwhile, a statement on Wednesday said Guaranty Trust Bank Plc had completed its re-organisation to a holding company structure. Under the terms of the re-organisation, a new operating company had been established and amendments made to the articles of incorporation for a corporate name change. The corporate name of Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc and GTCO Plc would be used by the newly established operating company.

The statement added that the holding company will be governed by a Board of Directors comprising, Mr. Sola Oyinlola as Chairman of the Board and Mr. Segun Agbaje as the Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Adebanji Adeniyi as Executive Director, Mrs. Cathy Echeozo as Non-Executive Director, Mr. Suleiman Barau and Mrs. Helen Bouygues as Independent Non-Executive Directors.

The banking subsidiary, Guaranty Trust Bank Limited, will be governed by a Board of Directors comprising, Mr. Ibrahim Hassan as Chairman of the Board, Mrs. Miriam Olusanya as Managing Director, Mr. Jide Okuntola as Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Haruna Musa as Executive Director, Mr. Olabode Agusto as Independent Non-Executive Director, Ms Imoni Akpofure and Mrs. Victoria Adefala as Independent Non-Executive Directors.

The statement from the holdco noted that the appointments have been approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria and disclosed to the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Nigerian Exchange Group.
