February 05, (THEWILL) – A Pro-democracy activist and Leader of a Pan-Lagos Movement, Egbe Omoluabi Eko (Egbe), Comrade Ibrahim Ekundina, has urged Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, to focus on the good job he has been doing since he assumed office in 2019 and ignore some political apprentices, who are day-dreaming on replacing him through the coming governorship election on March 11, 2023.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Lagos, on Sunday, Egbe, which is a component element of the coalition named SaAwo-Olu for Governor Again (SAFOGA), reacted to a statement credited to the Governor, in which he described some contenders for his seat as political apprentices, who want to use textbook ideas to govern Lagos.
Ekudina welcomes the apprentices to the race because, according to him, the more the number of those who want to govern Lagos the better because, it is people who want to contribute their quotas to the development of the state that would aspire to contest for governorship, commending them for their intention to serve their fatherland through Lagos State.
However, Ekudina went philosophical when he said the case of Lagos can be likened to the head of an elephant, which Yoruba people say is beyond what a toddler can carry, advising the political toddlers to search for their electoral fortunes where their political capability could fit in because Lagos is far beyond what their textbooks ideas can handle.
He, therefore, admonished Governor Sanwo-Olu not to allow the shenanigans to detract him from the good work he is doing for the people, assuring that the people are enjoying him and at the fullness of time, they would reciprocate appropriately with their votes, that would give him a landslide victory over the nonstarter apprentices.
Ekudina, who also expressed the need for the collection of Permanent Voters Card (PVC), because of its importance as the legitimate weapon to fight against defeat, warned that no excuse would be accepted from those who registered for the PVCs but refused to collect them, saying a stitch in time saves nine.
Concluding, the statement assured the Governor that, “teeming members of our organization have not left the field for once, sensitising the people for collection of the PVCs and mobilising support for the Governor to attain victory on March 11.”
