
BEVERLY HILLS, April 09, (THEWILL) – Gunmen on Thursday invaded a fuel station at Isan Ekiti in Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State and abducted its Manager, Mr. Itakorodo Adebayo.
THEWILL gathered that the eight gunmen stormed the fuel station on motorbikes, shooting sporadically and forcibly took away the victim.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer for the Command, Sunday Abutu, said the Commissioner of Police, Tunde Mobayo, deployed “a team of police operatives and detectives” alongside the Amotekun Corps and local hunters to comb the bushes and forests across the state to rescue the victim.
The statement said: “The Ekiti State Police Command, in addition to the rescue teams deployed, has contacted all the states bordering Ekiti State for possible assistance towards the rescue of the victim and the arrest of the perpetrators.
“The Commissioner of Police implored anyone with useful information that could assist the police to rescue the victim and apprehend the culprits to inform the nearest police station or call 08062335577.
“Adebayo was abducted at Isan Ekiti at about 7pm on Thursday by unknown gunmen numbering about eight who stormed the filling station through the bush on about six motorcycles and started shooting sporadically before whisking the victim away.”
