April 25, (THEWILL) – A federal commissioner of the National Population Commission (NPC), in Bayelsa State, Gloria Izonfuo, has been kidnapped.
Mrs Izonfuo was abducted on Sunday, along with her driver and maid at Ogbakiri junction on the east-west road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital.
Spokesperson of the Rivers Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the development.
Iringe-Koko said a police tactical team has been deployed to rescue the abductees.
The NPC commissioner and her aides were said to be returning to Port Harcourt after a trip to Brass in Bayelsa.
THEWILL, however, gathered that her abductors have demanded N500 million in ransom for the release of the victims.
