October 29, (THEWILL) – Gunmen on Saturday, shot dead a police officer, Sgt. Peter Ikwen, in Calabar, Cross River State.
Spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Irene Ugbo, said the Officer was killed early Saturday at Edgerton Street, Calabar.
“I have just gathered that a police sergeant was shot dead by unknown gunmen in the early hours of today (Saturday) and his rifle was taken away by the assailants.
“Investigation has begun with a view to unravelling those behind the act”, she said.
