November 23, (THEWILL) – Heavily armed men, suspected to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), have razed down a police Divisional headquarters in Arondizuogu in Ideato Local Government Area of Imo state.
THEWILL gathered that one of the police officers on duty was killed in the incident.
Sources in the community said a Sienna vehicle attached to the division and DPO’s personal vehicles were vandalized by the gunmen which stormed the facility around 2:00 am on Tuesday.
“Gunmen have attacked the Arondizuogu Divisional Police Headquarters. They burnt and killed one of the police officers. They attacked at the odd hours and left the DPO with a broken head. They gave him matchet cuts and vandalized his Jeep and a police sienna vehicle belonging to the division”, one of the sources said.
Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Micheal Abattam, who confirmed the incident, said the state Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Hussaini, had ordered an investigation into the attack
