August 01, (THEWILL) – Gunmen have reportedly thrown some kidnap victims from the top of a bridge to the concrete base of a drainage channel in Alor in the Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The victims were said to have been abducted along Nnobi-Nnewi Road and taken to Alor where they were thrown out from a bridge top along the Obiaja River.

In a trending video of the incident on social media, one of the abductees narrated his experience, while being interviewed by some men of Tiger Squad local vigilante, Alor.

The victim, Benjamin Okafor (a.k.a. Man Petrol), said he was driving in his Toyota Camry car to his hometown, Amichi, in Nnewi South Local Government Area, with one other person, when he was abducted at about 9pm, only to be thrown from a 20 feet high bridge.

The video also shows the second victim lying lifeless in a drainage system, where flood pegged him against some huge pebbles in the channel.

When contacted, the Spokesperson of the Anambra State Police Command, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu confirmed the incident.

DSP Tochukwu said the victim has been rescued, while body of one deceased victim recovered from the scene, was also deposited in a mortuary.

“The man was rescued and he is currently receiving treatment in the hospital. He was later identified and united with the family members.

“Meanwhile the second victim has been taken to the morgue and investigation has since commenced please,” he said.
