BEVERLY HILLS, May 22, (THEWILL) – THEWILL can confirm that men of the Nigerian Police Force are presently at the premises of the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Abuja, blocking access into the building.
The stern looking men, who are heavily armed, arrived the secretariat with five police vehicles, comprising two trucks and two pick up vans immediately cordoned access on both end of the street directly in front of the secretariat.
While the source of the order is not confirmed, there are speculations that the act is in order to forestall breakdown of law and destruction of the secretariat by aggrieved members following the fallout of the party’s convention which was marred with disagreements.
THEWILL recalls that the party had already been divided into two factions which held parallel conventions on Saturday, while the Port – Harcourt convention saw the removal of the Acting Chairman, Ali Modu Sheriff amidst controversies and court injunctions.
