March 03, (THEWILL) – Folarin Falana, aka Falz, music icon and son of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, is excited that Nigerians are now concerned about the state of the nation.
The singer took to Instagram to make a video where he applauded the way Nigerians are united and agitating for a better country.
Ahead of the general elections, many people threw their weight behind their choice candidates and campaigned vigorously for them on social media.
Some celebrities even engaged in social media altercation with their colleagues, while supporting their preferred candidate.
While voting was going on, some people took to social media to give report of happenings at their polling units.
Commenting on the way Nigerians are concerned about the outcome of the election, the singer stated that he is happy about the development.
He encouraged the youths not to wait for what belongs to them, but they should go out and grab it.
The singer also advised the youths to put religious bigotry and tribalism aside and fight for a better Nigeria as one without considering each other’s tribe.
“What a time to be alive, a time where every Nigerian person is focusing on the politics of the nation, I never thought I will ever see this day, but I’m so much excited, am so much happy to see this day.
“I even watched a meme where it was stated that Jay-Z is now watching Channels news, Oh Jes! I can’t believe this.
“On a serious note, this is where we need to be. Something serious is brewing. It’s a different generation and we have all these resources at our disposal, we cannot continue the same way that our parents continued now!!.
“It is not good now!!, leaders of tomorrow, they will not come and serve you, you have to collect it. But I love what I am seeing, the energy bro.
“What we need to fix is the bigotry, tribalism, the religious bigotry as well like all these weird statements I have been hearing.
“I know a lot of people don’t even know better so it is not their fault.
“But there is a lot of work in terms of exposure, education and enlightenment, that we have to do among ourselves.
“Just talk to people, talk to somebody, let them know why it doesn’t make sense.
“It is not even their fault, they don’t know, they don’t get it. There is a lot of work to be done and it starts now.
“Like really and truly, whether Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa, whoever your candidate, everyone of us, we are all one and the same. We’re all Nigerians. In fact, as Africans, we’re all the same”, he stated.
