May 27, (THEWILL) – Veteran Nollywood actor, Ibrahim Chatta, has opened up on being snubbed by Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award, AMVCA.
The actor was not nominated for any award category at the 9th edition of the award ceremony.
Despite the fact that some movies he acted in clinched some nominations, his outstanding performances in those movies were snubbed.
In a recent interview, the actor lamented that he was not only snubbed in the award ceremony but he was also snubbed in the lists of invitees.
He revealed that he is not bothered about the award but what bothers him is the fact that some of his junior colleagues were invited to the award ceremony and he was not invited.
Speaking further, he added that he will not allow the award snub to discourage him but his focus is on his craft and his desire to clinch an Oscar.
“I always thought my work wasn’t good enough, but I saw my younger colleagues who got invited to the event.
“I don’t want any award to limit me because I am aiming for the Oscars. If I am focusing on not being nominated at AMVCA, I can lose focus”, he stated.
