December 05, (THEWILL) – Nigerian singer, Opeyemi Babatunde Rahim, known professionally as Lyta, recently shared his wish to return to his former record label, YBNL Nation, owned by renowned Nigerian rapper, Olamide Gbenga Adedeji.
In a recent episode of Ginger Yourself Podcast, Lyta explained that he didn’t leave YBNL “intentionally.”
He said, “I want to be back with YBNL. What I did back then wasn’t intentional. I didn’t hear from Olamide before leaving and after I left, he just locked up. But I’ve spoken to him since leaving. I chatted with him via Instagram on his birthday and he responded.”
He signed a record deal with YBNL Nation in 2018 but left the label in May 2019 after having a disagreement with Olamide.
In 2020, it was rumoured that Lyta was signed to Marlian Records owned by Azeez Adesina Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, but Lyta said, “I am not signed with Marlian Records. Naira Marley is just showing me love.”
In 2022, he disclosed in an interview that he left YBNL Nation because he “heard a lot of things from friends and people in the industry.”
“I didn’t know who or what to believe, and some people eventually got into my head,” he added.
