December 17, (THEWILL) – American actor and model, Christian Keyes, recently disclosed that he was sexually harassed by a powerful figure in Hollywood for years.
The actor, renowned for his roles in popular BET TV shows and movies, turned to social media to reveal his personal experience with sexual harassment. He shared the distressing encounters and affirmed his unwavering determination to confront and resist such behaviour.
While refraining from disclosing the individual’s identity, he disclosed having evidence, including recordings and expressed his intent to release them at the appropriate moment.
In a video posted on his Instagram page, he said, “This person was sexually harassing me for years.
“He was claiming he had multiple young Black men on payroll and they just had to show up when he requested them to be there. Clearly, that’s why he felt it was okay to say these things.”
He continued, “It happens. It’s just not women that have to deal with it but it’s also men sometimes. And it will be men tempting men.”
According to reports 38 percent of women and 14 percent of men have reported experiencing sexual harassment at work. Additionally, 1 in 7 women and 1 in 17 men have sought a new job assignment, changed jobs, or resigned from a position due to sexual harassment and assault. Experts suggest that the actual number might be higher, considering that incidents involving men may be underreported to authorities.
