May 11, (THEWILL) – President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the declaration of the hydrocarbon-rich Oguta/Ohaji/Egbema area of Imo State as an Oil & Gas Free Trade Zone.
The President’s approval was given following the request for the status by Imo State Governor, Sen Hope Uzodimma.
Announcing the approval in a tweet on Thursday night, the Presidency said President Buhari had earlier approved the establishment of a Naval Base at Oguta.

“The President had earlier approved the establishment of a Naval Base at Oguta,” the tweet read.
