
March 20, (THEWILL) – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has declared the March 18 gubernatorial election in Adamawa State inconclusive.
INEC collation officer in the State, Prof Muhammed Mele of the University of Maiduguri, Borno, said a winner could not be declared because the number of collected PVCs at over 37,000 is more than the margin of lead for Governor Ahmadu Fintiri over his challenger, Aishatu Ahmed.
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Senator Aishatu Dahiru, scored 390,275, while the incumbent, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, polled 421,524.
