March 08, (THEWILL) – Gender Advocacy groups, led by the Do Foundation International, on Wednesday, held a sensitisation walk, in commemoration of the 2023 International Women’s Day celebration, urging women in the state to embrace modern technology and gadgets for business and daily life.

Dr Dise Goddy Harry, Founder of the Do Foundation International, while speaking on the theme of this year’s celebration tagged, “Innovation and Technology for gender equality”, encouraged women to move from their old ways of transacting business to a more seamless means, through the available modern gadgets used for business transactions, so that they would be at par with their male business counterparts.

Dr Goddy Harry, who was accompanied on the sensitisation walk to various markets by a team of seasoned professionals and gender advocates, took out time to highlight the legal rights of women and the girl child.

She encouraged them to embrace legal options when their rights are being infringed upon. The sensitisation also opened the minds of women on living a healthy lifestyle, as clearly highlighted by Nurse Deghipulu Ubodiom, Chairperson, Do Foundation Bayelsa State chapter.

The high point of the event was the distribution of the Do Foundation enlightenment ‘speak-up’ stickers.
