November 01, (THEWILL) – The Coalition Muslim groups have extended their support to victims of the Maiduguri flood disaster by donating essential food and non-food items worth N35 million to 4,000 victims.

The group includes Nigeria Aid Groups comprising Islam Jama’atu Nasir Islam, Muslims Public Affairs Center (MPAC), Movements for Islamic Centre and Awareness and The Tahara Collective.

The National Secretary JNI, Alhaji Aminu Sani Mabira disclosed this during the donation to victims in Maiduguri on Wednesday.

Aminu said the donation reflects the group’s commitment to alleviating the suffering of flood victims and contributing to humanitarian efforts in the region.

We also assist them with the same magnitude in terms of financial assistance, food items, Medical outreach and clothes. We met with the flood committee set up by the state government and they are right away working towards giving us the areas that will be working Insha Allah.

“Insha Allah, we are earmarked financially. N35 million for this purpose apart from logistics.

“Our target is to reach people anyway, we are targeting to reach at least 1000 people each, with clothing; cash assistance for 1000 people and medical assistance for 1000 people. And then food items for 1000 people”, he said.

The Co-chairman of the Maiduguri Flood Relief Committee, Prof. Ibrahim Umara, expressed his gratitude for the generous donation, assuring that the relief materials would be distributed fairly to the affected families.

Islamic groups for their contribution reinforce their dedication to community welfare and the spirit of compassion, standing alongside other organisations in addressing the challenges faced by those impacted by the disaster.
