November 16, (THEWILL) – Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has commended Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso for his immense contributions to the growth and development of politics and democracy in the country.
Yusuf made the commendation at the wedding reception of Kwankwaso’s daughter, Dr Aisha Kwankwaso, held at the Government House, Kano, on Saturday.
He equally lauded the contribution of Kwankwaso to the growth of the New Nigeria People’s Party which formed government in Kano State during the 2023 general elections.
He then advised the bridegroom, Dr Aisha Kwankwaso, and her groom, Fahad Mangal, to cultivate tolerance and understanding among them to achieve a peaceful married life.
The governor also emphasised the importance of mutual understanding and respect in building a strong marriage.
He thanked all the guests who attended the wedding fatiha, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, serving and former governors as well as members of state and national assemblies.
The wedding fatiha which took place at the Palace of the Emir of Kano, was conducted by the Chief Imam of Kano, Prof. Sani Zahraddeen.
The sum of N1m was paid as dowry by the groom.
The high-profile wedding ceremony brought together prominent figures from across Nigeria.
