SAN FRANCISCO, June 15, (THEWILL) – The Kano state governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on Tuesday began his annual leave, making his deputy, Prof. Hafiz Abubakar to act in his stead as Acting Governor throughout the duration of the leave.
According to a statement issued by the Director-General, Media and Communications in Government House, Kano, Salihu Tanko Yakasai, the Governor is expected to use the period of his leave to perform Umrah (lesser Hajj) in Saudi Arabia.
“During Gov. Ganduje’s absence, his deputy, Prof. Hafiz Abubakar will serve as Acting Governor of the state in accordance with constitutional provisions. The Governor will resume duty at the expiry of the leave,” the statement read.
