February 23, (THEWILL) — The Kano State Government is to mount toll gates in seven locations to enhance security across the state, the state Commissioner for Housing Development, Arc Ibrahim Yakubu Adamu, has disclosed.

A statement signed by the Director of Public Enlightenment of the State Ministry of Housing Development, Malam Adamu Abdullahi, said the Commissioner dropped the hint while officially handing over the 7 sites for the construction of the toll gates on Saturday.

He gave the names of the proposed seven locations as: Daura Road, Katsina Road, Gwarzo Road, Zaria Road, Maiduguri Road, Hadejia Road, and Sa’adatu Rimi.

He reiterated the State Government’s determination to enhance the security architecture as well as the socio-economic status of the state through adequate monitoring of vehicular movement into the state.

Arc Adamu urged the contractors to ensure completion of the project within the time frame.

The handing over ceremony, which was held at the seven locations of the projects, was witnessed by the state Commissioner of Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Marwan Ahmed, and the state Commissioner of the Ministry of Public Procurement, Dr Nura Ma’aji.

Highlights of the occasion included the signing of the handover note between the contractors, representative of the Ministry of Housing Development, and the project Consultant.
