November 06, (THEWILL) – The Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal, on Monday, reserved judgement in the appeal filed by Kano State governor, Abba Yusuf, against the judgement of the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal in the state.
THEWILL had reported that the Kano State Election Petitions Tribunal sacked Abba Yusuf, and declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Nasiru Gawuna, as the rightful winner of the Kano governorship election.
A three-man panel of the Tribunal, led by Justice Oluyemi Akintan Osadebay, sacked Yusuf on September 20, 2023, by declaring 165,663 of his votes invalid because they were not signed or stamped by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Dissatisfied with the judgement, Yusuf approached the appellate court; praying it to set aside the judgement.
After taking arguments and submissions of all parties in the appeal on Monday, the appeal court panel reserved judgement, saying a date would be communicated to the parties.
“Judgement in this appeal is hereby reserved to a date to be communicated to the parties”, a three-member panel of the appellate court declared.
