March 03, (THEWILL) – The Kano State Government has launched its 2025 Ramadan Feeding Programme, aimed at providing daily iftar meals for 91,000 fasting Muslims across the state.
Deputy Governor Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam officially flagged off the initiative on Sunday at the Dandali Centre in Fagge Local Government Area.
The programme, institutionalized under the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, seeks to support vulnerable residents during the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement, Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Wayya, emphasized the humanitarian nature of the initiative, noting that it is designed to ease the burden of fasting Muslims.
“Since the assumption of office by the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP)-led administration in Kano, the state government has committed to providing daily iftar meals to those in need during Ramadan,” Wayya stated.
He revealed that the 2025 feeding programme will run for 27 days across 91 designated centres. To ensure smooth execution, catering service providers have been engaged to prepare and distribute the meals efficiently.
Deputy Governor Abdulsalam, who also chairs the programme’s implementation committee, expressed satisfaction with the takeoff and urged catering companies to maintain high standards in delivering meals on time to all designated locations.
