BEVERLY HILLS, April 10, (THEWILL) –The Kano State Consumer Protection Council (KCPC) has ordered the immediate closure of all restaurants, bakery, water factories and other food processing companies without a health certificate.

The Acting Managing Director of the Council, Dr. Baffa Babba Dan’agundi, gave the directive on Friday  after the expiration of a two-week notice issued to all concern affected  businesses.

Dan’agundi stated that a matching order has been given to his men to clamp and shut down such premises that are not certified fit to run such business by the State Health Ministry.

A statement signed by Information Officer, KSCPC, Comrade Musbahu Aminu Yakasai, said the order became necessary in view of a recent discovery of Hepatitis-B and other dangerous communicable diseases patients working at such restaurants and other places.

He added that the action is to  further safeguard the lives and health of the people of the State against contracting diseases.
