September 30, (THEWILL) — The Kano State Police Command has recovered Tramadol and Pregabalin tablets valued at N82.7 million in Rimin Auzinawa Quarters of Kano metropolis.

Commissioner of Police, Dr. Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, disclosed this while briefing journalists in Kano on Monday.

He said the recovery was among several breakthroughs recorded by the command in the past month, including the arrest of 105 suspects in 30 major cases such as armed robbery, illicit drug dealings, vehicle and motorcycle theft, and thuggery.

Bakori added that exhibits seized from suspects included firearms, vehicles, motorcycles, dangerous weapons, illicit drugs, and stolen property.

“Notably, we recently recovered Tramadol and Pregabalin tablets worth N82,725,000 in Rimin Auzinawa Quarters, Kano. The drugs will be handed over to the NDLEA for further investigation and prosecution,” he said.

The commissioner explained that the command had intensified operations in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to adopt community-centered crime prevention strategies ahead of the year-end festive period.

He highlighted Operation Kukan Kura as a key initiative, noting that it has helped disrupt criminal networks, prevent potential threats, and improve safety across the state.

“By engaging the community, leveraging intelligence, and deploying technology, the command has stayed ahead of criminal elements and responded effectively to emerging security challenges,” Bakori said.
