November 23, (THEWILL) — The Kebbi State Government has ordered the immediate closure of all public and private schools across the state following rising security concerns.

The directive, issued on Sunday through a circular from the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, mandates all basic and secondary schools to suspend academic activities from Monday, November 24, 2025, until further notice.

According to the circular signed by Hajia Hauwa Muhammad, Deputy Director, ICT, on behalf of the Commissioner, the decision follows ongoing security assessments and is aimed at protecting students, teachers and school administrators.

“All schools within Kebbi State are to strictly adhere to this directive and ensure prompt communication of the closure to all parents and guardians,” the circular read.

Principals, headteachers and proprietors were also directed to ensure full compliance with the government’s order.

The ministry expressed regret over the inconvenience the sudden closure may cause, adding that the government prays for a swift return of peace and normalcy in the state.
