Keyamo Bags Second “Minister of the Year 2024” Award In One Week

March 02, (THEWILL) – The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has been honoured with the Minister of the Year 2024 award by the Board of Editors of The Sun Newspapers, marking his second recognition in just one week.

The award, presented by the Chairman of CIG Motors Limited, Ms. Diana Chen, reinforces Keyamo’s outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s aviation sector and his leadership in driving reforms and infrastructural development.

The ceremony, held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, was attended by top corporate executives, industry leaders, and political figures, who gathered to celebrate excellence across various sectors.

Keyamo was accompanied by key aviation industry officials, including Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development; Capt. Chris Najomo, Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority; Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria; and Prof. Charles Anosike, Director General of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency.

Also in attendance were senior directors from regulatory and operational agencies, including Mrs. Anastasia Gbem, Director of Human Resources at NCAA; Mahmood Abdullahi, Director of Operations at FAAN; Obiageli Orah, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection; Debola Agunbiade, Director of Commercials and Business Development; Ayo Olatiregun, Director of Finance; Igbafe Afegbai, Director of Aviation Security; Jensen Asaba, Director of Corporate Services; Henry Agbebire, Director of Special Duties; and Lekan Ladipo Thomas, Director of Cargo Operations.

The back-to-back recognition highlights Keyamo’s efforts in implementing transformative policies and positioning Nigeria’s aviation sector for global competitiveness. His tenure has been marked by bold initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, and strategic partnerships aimed at enhancing the country’s status as an aviation hub.

This latest accolade further cements his reputation as a visionary leader spearheading the transformation of Nigeria’s aviation landscape.
