Keyamo Mourns Agbor Fire Victims, Pledges FG Support

January 06, (THEWILL) – The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has expressed profound sorrow over a devastating fire incident in Agbor, Delta State, which claimed five lives, including a young woman, and left several others injured.

The tragic event, triggered by a petrol tanker that lost control due to brake failure, caused widespread destruction to residential and commercial properties, leaving the community in anguish.

In a heartfelt message, Keyamo extended his condolences to the victims’ families and those affected by the tragedy.

“For the families and individuals who have lost so much, we stand with you during this incredibly challenging time. Our hearts go out to you, and the Federal Government is committed to providing the necessary resources and support to help you rebuild and recover,” he said.

Keyamo also lauded the bravery of first responders, including firefighters and emergency personnel, whose swift actions played a critical role in containing the fire and preventing further loss of life.

“We are deeply grateful for the dedication and courage of our emergency teams. Their efforts significantly mitigated the impact of this tragic event,” the Minister noted.

Reiterating the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting the Agbor community, Keyamo assured residents that steps would be taken to facilitate recovery and rebuilding efforts.

He emphasised the government’s resolve to stand by the affected families and ensure they receive adequate assistance during this difficult time.
