August 01, (THEWILL) – Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has appointed Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo (SAN), as media director of his presidential campaign council.
A confidential source privy to the development told THEWILL that Tinubu and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, sealed the deal with Keyamo at a meeting held last week at the Tinubu Campaign office in Abuja.
Keyamo has held the same position in 2019 during President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election bid.
Spokesman of the Tinubu Campaign Organisation, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the development.
“APC stakeholders will meet over composition of the campaign council. Keyamo is a member of the media team. He is being proposed as the head of the media team”, he said.
On when the stakeholders’ meeting will be held, Onanuga said it was originally scheduled for last weekend, but had been postponed due to Tinubu’s absence.
Meanwhile, the former Lagos State governor has also appointed his son, Seyi Tinubu, as Member of the campaign council, according to sources close to the Council.
Seyi, a digital billboard advertising practitioner, is the Chief executive officer/chairman of Loatsad Promomedia.
Some close confidants of Asiwaju, who were present at the meeting were said to have supported the decision fully.
