August 02, (THEWILL) – The National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, has said that the abductors of the two Nollywood actors, Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornell, mocked him on Monday, when he told them his association raised about N1.2 million as ransom to free them.
He said the terrorists scornfully laughed at him, expecting that the Nollywood celebrities should raise the ransom as they posted the incident on Instagram.
Recall that the two actors were reportedly kidnapped on Sunday, at a movie location in Enugu.
A ransom of $100,000 was demanded as ransom to secure their release.
Rollas had said that the guild cannot set aside funds to pay the ransom of their kidnapped members, arguing that funds have not even been set aside to help ailing actors.
Rollas had said that the AGN was liasing with the families as the guild isn’t supposed to provide the money.
The Enugu State Police already began an investigation to locate the kidnapped actors and had already recovered Okereke’s abandoned vehicle on Enugu-Port-Harcourt Expressway.
