BEVERLY HILLS, May 31, (THEWILL) – Suspected kidnappers have abducted an 18-year-old artisan at Ogueka, on the Benin-Ehor road in Edo state.
The victim, Osarodion Otamere Imade, is one of the youths in Benin city currently learning a trade as a tiler.
THEWILL gathered that the victim had gone to join his boss at a site to fix tiles but was kidnapped at the roadside near Ogueka village.
Sources say the kidnappers were holding him for ransom in a nearby bush in Ogueka.
His abductors had already called the family members to demand N5 million as ransom.
The victim’s elder sister said, “The kidnappers called for N5m, but we have been able to raise N50,000.
“I have told them what we have but they started beating my brother. I appeal to everyone to come to our aid now.
“My father is currently sick, and we cannot raise such money. He was kidnapped on 25th May 2021, and we have been worried.”
The police in Edo state are yet to make a statement on the incident.
