August 08, (THEWILL) — The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has petitioned the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector-General of Police, calling for a full-scale investigation into Fuji legend, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, over an incident involving him and domestic carrier, ValueJet.
The development follows public outcry over the incident, which occurred on Tuesday and reportedly disrupted standard operational procedures, raising concerns about passenger conduct and airline safety protocols.
Preliminary findings allege that the musician’s actions aboard ValueJet flight VK201 contravened provisions of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations.
Although details are still emerging, the NCAA stressed the need to enforce aviation safety rules and hold offenders accountable, regardless of their status.
In separate letters to the AGF and IGP, the Authority urged a comprehensive criminal probe and prosecution in line with the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations, 2023, and other applicable laws.
The Director-General of Civil Aviation, Capt. Chris Najomo, has also advised the Airline Operators of Nigeria to consider placing K1 De Ultimate on a no-fly list pending the conclusion of the investigation.
A statement by NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, said the move aligns with global aviation practices that prioritise the safety of passengers, crew, and airline operations.
