
September 24, (THEWILL) – Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has sent a list of ten commissioner-nominees to the state House of Assembly for consideration and approval.
Among the nominees were five of the former Commissioners whose appointments were terminated during the last cabinet reshuffle.
Their names were contained in a letter forwarded to the Oyo State House of Assembly by the Governor on Wednesday.
THEWILL gathered that the five returning former Commissioners are: former Commissioner for Education, Mr Olasunkanmi Olaleye; former Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Seun Fakorede; Information, Culture and Tourism, Wasiu Olatubosun; Commerce Adeniyi Adebisi and the former Commissioner for Lands and Urban Planning, Abdurahman Abduraheem.
The new Commissioner designates forwarded are Mr Abiodun Oni, Professor Misbau Babatunde Adetunji, Mr Segun Olayiwola, Dr Bode Taiwo Ladipo and Alhaja Kafilat Omolabake Olayiwola.
It was gathered that the Special Adviser to Makinde on Economic Matters, Prof. Babatunde Misbau Adetunji, has been nominated as Commissioner for Budget and Planning, while the Incident Manager of the State’s COVID-19 Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) Dr Bode Taiwo Ladipo has been nominated as the Commissioner for Health.
THEWILL recalls that Makinde had earlier appointed seven Commissioners. The seven Commissioners were inaugurated last month. He had also on August 6, reappointed some of the sacked aides and have them back their portfolios.
