August 11, (THEWILL) — The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, also known as So-Safe Corps, has arrested a suspected motorcycle snatcher in the Ado/Ota council of the state.
The suspect, Falade Wasiu, a resident of Akashu Village, Ado-Odo LGA, was arrested following a report received from a complaint that somebody stole a ‘lady’ motorcycle in the area.
The Spokesperson of So-Safe, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, confirmed this to newsmen in a statement made available at the weekend in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Yusuf said that based on the information, Ado-Odo/Igbesa Area Commander, ACC Oluti Kehinde, swung into action and alerted his team to be on patrol and watch out for the suspect, but their efforts paid off when the culprit was nabbed at about 2:30 am on August 7, 2025.
He said that the suspect, while confessing to the crime, conspired with an accomplice, identified as Wale, to steal the motorcycle from Ajegunle, a community within Atan-Ota metropolis, about five months ago.
Yusuf said that the officers had to scale through the fence of an uncompleted building to retrieve the stolen motorcycle, which had been kept there for some months, adding that the suspect was apprehended while on his way to sell the bike in Oshodi, Lagos State.
“Subsequently, on 7th August, 2025, at about 2:30 am, the surveillance team arrested one Falade Wasiu, male, a resident of Akashu Village, Ado-Odo, along Ado-Odo town road in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area.
“He was found in possession of the stolen ‘lady’ motorcycle with registration number MUS 398 QP, a black plastic TVS, three gas lighters, and an MTN SIM card.
“During preliminary investigation, the suspect confessed that he conspired with an accomplice identified as Wale to steal the motorcycle from Ajegunle, a community within Atan-Ota metropolis, about five months ago.
“He revealed that they scaled the perimeter fence of the premises before taking the motorcycle, which had been kept in an uncompleted building since the theft. The Corps intercepted him on his way to Oshodi, where he intended to sell the motorcycle.
“The suspect further admitted to having stolen motorcycles in the past and disclosed that he had once escaped from police custody”, he concluded.
Commander Ganzallo confirmed that the suspect and the recovered exhibits have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Ado-Odo Division, for further investigation and possible prosecution
