October 24, (THEWILL) – A farmer from Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State was alleged to have stabbed his wife to death following a heated argument that ensued between the couple.
The cause of the argument that turned bloody could not be ascertained by residents of the area as an eyewitness who pleaded anonymity said they were attracted when the woman started shouting for help.
The source said the youth chased and caught the man and brought him before the elders, while the body of his wife was later retrieved and placed beside him.
“On arrival that fateful hour, we just saw the woman almost lifeless and the husband attempted to escape but was caught by the community,” the source stated.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer for Benue State command, SP Sewuese Anene, said the suspect is already in police custody.
According to her, “investigation will reveal the cause of the action.” She further advised people against taking laws into their own hands no matter the provocation.
