April 24, (THEWILL) – The Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Dr Adekoyejo Jolaoso, will deliver the Keynote Address at the maiden Officers Training School (OTS), which will be organised by the Lagos Chapter of the alumni association.
The training, which is for all the newly elected officers of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) Alumni Association (MAPALUM), Lagos Chapter, is with the theme: “Becoming a Purpose-Driven Alumni”.
The event will be held in the state on May 1, 2025.
A statement by Mr Gafar Odubote, Chairman, Lagos Chapter of MAPALUM, said that Jolaoso, whose keynote address was on ‘Building a Purpose-Driven Alumni and Achieving Synergy with the Institution’, was strategically selected as a keynote speaker because of his wealth of experience in human management.
He explained that the one-day training was part of the association’s ongoing drive to foster transformative leadership and deepen strategic alumni engagement.
According to him, the training also aimed to equip the newly elected executive officers of the association with the vision, tools, and structure needed to lead with intention, empathy, and institutional alignment.
He said, “This training is a call to purpose – a reminder that intentional leadership must be anchored in purpose, clarity, and strategy. Our alumni body is only as strong as the clarity of its leadership.
“This training creates a shared understanding of roles, responsibilities, and expectations. It is the first major step in building an alumni association that is intentional, inclusive, and impactful.”
Apart from Jolaoso, the training would also feature seasoned facilitators and thought leaders delivering interactive sessions on leadership, strategy, alumni development, and institutional synergy.
Others are Mr Ezekiel Obasanya, National President, MAPOLY Alumni Association; Mr Olalekan Otun, Executive Director, Minds & Brain Limited, Media Independent; Mr Adebola Fashina, Chief of Staff to Chairman, National Quality Control (NQC); Mr Ganiyu Olowu, Lead Consultant, GO Media Ideaz and Past Chairmen of the Chapter.
Also speaking, Miss Fadeke Omo-Omorodion, the Events Committee Lead, stated that the Officers Training School was a foundational step towards delivering on the chapter’s vision.
Omo-Omorodion, who is also the Vice Chairman of MAPALUM Lagos Chapter, encouraged all members to follow event highlights via its official communication platforms and support the vision of purpose-driven leadership in the alumni community.
“This training is more than a formality—it is the foundation upon which excellence will be built. It will align us to a shared vision and provide the leadership toolkit needed to move from ideas to action”, she said.
The Officers Training School is a flagship initiative under the Chapter’s strategic message framework, which focuses on Member Empowerment, Sustainable Structure, Alumni Growth, and Engagement.
