SAN FRANCISCO, May 22, (THEWILL) – Militants in the Niger Delta region have blown up another pipeline belonging to the Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC) in Ikembiri, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.

Reports gathered by THEWILL suggest that the Ogboinbiri-Tebidaba-Brass pipelines along the Azuzuama- Ikienghenbiri creek was blown in a supremacy battle between two rival militants struggling for control of the pipeline.

Sources added that both groups claimed to be protecting the pipeline from the other group and have been shooting sporadically at each other which unsettled the community with residents fleeing the area.
