HAJIYA HADIZA MAILAFIYA

SAN FRANCISCO, September 11, (THEWILL) –  Until her sack on Wednesday afternoon alongside eight other Ministers by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Hajiya Hadiza Mailafiya was the Minister of Environment and represented Kaduna State, Vice President Namadi Sambo’s home state, in the federal cabinet.

It was glaring that her sudden sack from office had jolted her as she could barely hide her emotions as tears streamed freely down her cheeks as she exited the meeting.

THEWILL gathered that Hajiya Mailafiya had successfully tendered a memo on the ratification of the West African Center on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use, at the FEC meeting before her sack was announced.

In her brief exchange with state house correspondents who accosted her as she exited at the weekly meeting, she offered some words:”If you are wise enough, life is a cycle where from the day you come in you should know there is an exit. Isn’t it?”

“Every Wednesday I come in here hoping one day there will be a cabinet reshuffle. I am grateful to all of you and I enjoyed working with all of you. And please support government programmes, the Great Green Wall in particularly, the new map and so on! We have been honoured to serve and we are moving out honourably and I think that is important because many have come and gone without honour.”
