
March 07, (THEWILL) – The driver of the Lagos Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), boarded by late Ayanwole Oluwabamise, a 22-year-old fashion designer, has been arrested by operatives of the State Police Command.
THEWILL had reported that Ayanwole went missing after she boarded a BRT vehicle from Chevron Bus Stop, Ajah, to Oshodi around 7 p.m on February 26.
During the journey, the fashion designer was said to have observed that the driver was not picking up other passengers at subsequent bus-stops along the route.
Disturbed, she alerted her friend through text messages and also sent voice notes detailing her predicament. It was the last time her friend and family members heard from her.
Briefing newsmen on the development on Monday, Spokesperson of the Lagos Police Command, Adekunle Ajisebutu, said the abductors dumped the remains of the lady on the Carter Bridge by Ogogoro community.
“The Lagos state police command regrets to inform the public that Oluwabamise Ayanwole, the 22-year-old lady who went missing while in transit on board a BRT bus on 26/2/2022, has been found dead.
“The corpse was found lying on the Carter Bridge, by Ogogoro Community, Lagos Island. The corpse has been deposited for autopsy at the morgue of Mainland Hospital, Yaba”, Ajisebutu said. Adding that the family of the deceased have been notified of the development.
