March 11, (THEWILL) — The Senator representing Kano South Senatorial District, Abdurahman Kawu Sumaila, has described the alleged rejection of his Ramadan rice palliative meant for his constituents as “a dangerous political blackmail”.
Sumaila, in a statement, said his political enemies masterminded the rejection.
A group of politicians had mounted the social media platforms, showing five bags of rice, which they alleged were given to them by Senator Sumaila.
They alleged that the five bags were allocated to the whole Albasu Local Government Area of the Kano South Senatorial zone by their Senator, Kawu Sumaila.
“We gave every Local Government Area 500 bags, and we attended to groups and individuals, which makes it almost 15,000 bags. Somebody shortchanged them along the line.
“They chose to go to the press with a view to blackmailing us; we will deal with the matter. It is all politics.
“Anytime you deal with human beings, you are bound to encounter such a problem. It’s normal as a human being to encounter such a situation in life, but that won’t deter me from doing welfare to my constituents”, the lawmaker vowed.
