December 19, (THEWILL) – The 2024 budget would be passed on Saturday, December 30, 2023, by the National Assembly; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, said on Tuesday.
The 2024 Appropriation Bill of N27.5 trillion was presented to the National Assembly by President Bola Tinubu on November 29, 2023.
Tagged: “Budget of Renewed Hope”, the President said it aimed to achieve economic growth, stability, improved investment environment, human capital development, poverty reduction and enhanced social security.
Speaking at the resumed plenary of the House on Tuesday, Abbas, who conveyed a message from the Committee on Appropriations to various House committees, emphasised that they must conclude and submit their reports from the budget defence sessions with government agencies by 8 pm on December 19, 2023.
He further elaborated that other budget-related processes including compilation, processing and harmonisation, would follow suit.
