February 11, (THEWILL) – The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) was established 25 years ago and since then, it has successfully performed its statutory responsibilities of ensuring effective regulation, monitoring and promotion of safety, engaging in economic regulation and ensuring reliability of air navigation oversight in line with International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Standard and Recommended Practices (SARPs).
This successful outing and the fact that the Authority has been on continuous improvement since inception called for a celebration to mark this epoch.
So, the Regulatory Authority will, on February 15, 2025, organise a symposium at the popular Continental Hotel, Abuja.
The symposium will be followed by a Gala Night to celebrate the successes achieved by the NCAA over the years, as the management prepares for another 25 years of effective and efficient regulation, ushering in the golden age of the Regulatory Authority.
The symposium will dwell on the critical issues that are germane and salient for the future existence of the Authority.
The title of the Symposium is “Aviation Finance and Revenue Assurance Summit”, with the theme: “Enhancing Cost Recovery Capabilities and Administrative Efficiency.”
Key issues in the symposium will include revenue generation and funding of the NCAA, the provision of invaluable services and the policy of cost recovery.
As a regulator of the aviation industry in Nigeria, NCAA funding is critical, so the experts in the specialised areas of finance and aviation will brainstorm and x-ray issues surrounding these themes.
The first speaker, Mr Godwin Ameh, the Deputy General Manager, Cost Recovery, NCAA, will speak on the “Overview of Cost Recovery Operations in NCAA”.
The second speaker, Michael U. Awa (Ph.D), will present a paper on “Improving Operational Regulatory Environment Through Collaboration and Synergy: Financial Management Imperative.”
Dr Olufemi Sunkanmi Falaye will speak on “Sustainable Partnership for Efficient Working Management and Optimal Cost Recovery: A Regulatory Dialogue.”
The symposium and the Gala Nite will be held at the same Continental Hotel, the former Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Abuja.
