NCAT Rector Commends Keyamo’s Commitment To College, Seeks Improved Staff Salary

May 06, (THEWILL) – The Rector/Chief Executive of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, Dr Danjuma Ismaila Adamu, has commended the generous commitment shown by the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr Festus Keyamo, and other predecessor administrations in the success story of the institution.

According to an official statement issued on Tuesday, signed by the College Director of Information, Dr Jude Amadi, the Rector gave the commendation when the Chairman, House Committee on Aviation, Honourable Tajudeen Kareem Abisodun, led the Committee on an oversight visit and facility tour of the College in Zaria.

During the visit, Dr Adamu also appealed for the continued kind assistance of the House Committee on Aviation in ensuring the improvement of budgetary allocations and funding for the college.

Decrying the poor wage profile of the college staff, Adamu said, such a factor is attributed as a major reason for the prevalent attrition and poaching of her trained personnel by sister agencies and the industry sector with higher salary remunerations.

He assured the committee of his administration’s plans to harness the college’s immense potential to gain maximum benefits for the College and the aviation industry.

While receiving the Committee with his entire management team, the Rector equally seized the opportunity to appraise the team of the strategic position of the college in churning out a great percentage of the aviation industry workforce and professionals in the Country.

In his remarks, the Committee Chairman, Hon Kareem Abisodun, also applauded the contributions of the College to the fortunes of Nigeria and the global aviation industry.

He assured his committee’s commitment to supporting the College in addressing its major challenges.

While commending the Rector, he also assured that his committee will carefully study the detailed presentation made by the Rector, with a view to ascertaining priority areas of interventions.

The Committee members were greatly impressed with the facilities and infrastructure in the college.

The Chairman further assured the College of the committee’s regular interface with the Rector to meet the necessary needs of the college.
