July 05, (THEWILL) – The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), said at least 12 states and 31 communities, may experience flooding due to heavy rainfall across the country between July 4 and July 8.
A statement signed by Ibrahim Farinloye, Territorial Coordinator, NEMA, Lagos Territorial Office, urged relevant stakeholders to take precautionary measures to forestall loss of lives and property.
NEMA said the States and communities at high risk include Plateau: Langtang and Shendam; Kano State: Sumaila, Tudun Wada; Sokoto State: Shagari, Goronyo and Silame; Delta: Okwe.
Others include Kaduna State: Kachia; Akwa Ibom: Upenekang; Adamawa: Mubi, Demsa, Song, Mayo-Belwa, Jimeta, and Yola; Katsina State: Katsina, Jibia, Kaita and Bindawa; Borno: Briyel; Jigawa: Gwaram; Kwara: Jebba; Niger: Mashegu and Kontagora.
