December 14, (THEWILL) — The Director, National Education Summit (NES), Professor Adams Agahiu, has hailed the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying there are significant progress in economic reform and infrastructure development.
Speaking with journalists on Sunday, Professor Agahiu also said the ongoing reforms are aimed at stabilising Nigeria’s economy and strengthening governance.
He said, “Under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu, there are significant progress in economic reform, infrastructure development, national security, and youth empowerment, which are aimed at stabilising Nigeria’s economy and strengthening governance.”
Agahiu pointed that President Tinubu’s administration had cleared over $10 billion in foreign exchange liabilities, according to him, was a move that helped restore investor confidence and stabilise the naira and the net foreign exchange reserves rose from $3.99 billion in 2023 to $23.11 billion by 2024.
His words, “Foreign interest in Nigeria’s economy has surged, with the government securing over $50 billion in new Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) commitments, and unlocking more than $8 billion in new oil and gas investments. The mining sector has also seen growth, with over $800 million in processing investments realised in solid minerals in 2024 alone.
“Also in infrastructural development, it is on public domain that this administration has embarked on massive infrastructure drive, with over 440 ongoing road projects nationwide, including the construction of more than 2,700 kilometres of superhighways within a spate of two years.
“Even on social welfare, President Tinubu has empowered over 900,000 Nigerians through the Presidential Loan and Grant Scheme, while another 300,000 students have accessed the Students’ Loan Scheme, aimed at widening access to higher education and entrepreneurship funding”, Agahiu explained.
He, however, thanked the presidential team headed by the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Gbajabiamila, for being focused in the Renewed Hope Agenda project of this government.
According to him, “These achievements are evidence of steady and impactful progress, despite a challenging global crisis.”
He also endorsed the President for second term in office come 2027.
